L.T. Mapping Services, Inc. specializes in
providing both the telecommunications and energy industries
with complete, accurate and up-to-date mapping and surveying
procedures. We utilize the latest in advanced computer technology
and both GPS and conventional survey for cross-country telecommunications,
gas-gathering facilities, and cross-country pipelines.
L.T. Mapping Services, Inc. has the capabilities
of providing our clients with a complete package for construction
bid. Services include complete mapping and survey facilities
for:
- Cross-Country and Metro Telecommunications
- Gas Gathering
- Cross-Country Pipelines
- Cellular Tower Sites
- GIS Mapping
- Inventory Survey and Mapping
Other services include:
- As-built Services based upon inspector's reports and other
reports generated by the Client.
- Route Selection
- Right-of-way Acquisitions
L.T. Mapping Service's is a company
of Excellence and Integrity. We take great pride in completing
projects within client's budget and time frame and in furnishing
clients with service that is above and beyond their expectations.
The company is directed by Mr. Larry M. Tucker,
who has over 25 years experience in the mapping industry.
He has personally managed projects ranging from 5 to 500 miles
in length and encompassing all geographic regions of the United
States. With his extensive knowledge he can not only effectively
deal with problems as they arise but can also anticipate problems,
thus saving clients both time and money.
It is L.T. Mapping Services, Inc.'s intention
to stay at the leading edge of new survey and mapping technology
and practices in order to provide an accurate and cost effective
product for our clients.
Survey
- Our GPS receivers have the capability of receiving data
from a total of 24 satellites, both U.S. and Russian, thus
reducing down time in the field due to the lack of available
satellite lock. This coverage also enhances our use of GPS
equipment due to canopy overhang and building obstructions.
- Omnistar 7000 Receivers allow for real-time correction,
which eliminates the need for post-processing of data. These
are submeter systems (normal field test for accuracy 1 foot
or less, X and Y coordinates) and do not require bases stations.
- Data collection is achieved by Fujitsu ST 1200 pen computer
with 2 GB of storage utilizing Pen Map software. This allows
the GPS technician complete information to satellite availability,
which insures every shot is accurate. All line work is produced
in the field and all nodes are tied to a code list and specific
line type, all of which can be customized to the clients
needs.
- In areas where GPS surveying is not the ideal method,
we use total stations with Pen Map software or HP 48 collectors
using TDS or SMI collection software. When using total station
equipment as the primary source, intermediate control points
are set by GPS for geo-referencing of data. All surveys
accomplished by L.T. Mapping Services, Inc. are geo-referenced
to the coordinate system preferred by our clients.
Mapping
In conjunction with our survey practices,
we also use the latest mapping software available. We currently
use AutoCAD 2004 software, along with AutoCAD Land Development Desktop.
We have tailored our mapping process to be flexible for telecommunications,
pipelines and gathering systems.
In addition to streamlining the flow from
survey data to mapping data, we now offer automated alignment
sheet generation.
- After importing of survey data begins development of the
base drawing. We can also implement electronic third-party
base maps, if desired by client. (i.e., aerial photography,
etc.)
- After completion of the base map and the alignment or
location of the proposed cable or pipeline has been established,
the automatic generation of survey stations and offsets
are calculated.
- Finally, automated alignment sheets are generated, complete
with survey stations, either horizontal or sloped, match
lines, materials and ground profile.
- An Access database is generated, reflecting X, Y and Z
coordinate values, station numbers and offsets to surveyed
points and items crossing the alignment. The database also
contains a description of all items. This database can be
exported to Excel, Word or DBF for client use and can export
directly into Arcview GIS Systems.
- The end product is a computer-generated alignment sheet
with very little CAD cleanup required. Elimination of equations
and re-stationing can be accomplished in a matter of hours,
not days.
With our process, generation of as-built
drawings with corrected stations and offset can be accomplished
with a reduced cost savings for our clients. We provide our
clients with an automated mapping process that is cost-effective
for all phases of mapping and provide GIS data as an end result.
All survey and mapping services provided
by L.T. Mapping Services, Inc. will be geo-referenced to the
coordinate system preferred by the client.
